Another day

Well, finally they are going to review all the work I am doing to see if my position can be upgraded. I have been asking for this since May. And our HR department is so slow you have to keep asking and asking for each step to happen. First, ask for the review, then, four months later they give you a questionaire to fill out, you fill it out and return it and then wait. Well, after two more months go by, I contacted them again and asked what was going on. "Oh yeah" they say, "We were going to call you and schedule a time to observe the work you do." Well, dang, one of my busiest times is just over! Why couldn't they have gotten back to me sooner? I guess I am just supposed to be happy I have a job.

The same thing happens with raises. AFSCME workers get a lump sum COLA of $1700. Division 8 Unclassified get a 2% lump sum COLA. What does CODE get? Screwed, that's what. Not even a COLA! Because our contract is up in March and they are using it as a bargining point. It never fails.

Well, I sent my resume to MSD today. They have a transfer position available. Molly says she will talk to the supervisor and will train me herself. At least if I transfer I will be able to take more classes towards my degree. I just don't know if this is something I want to do (transfer I mean). My old boss also works there, she would be happy to see me again. I have to say it myself, but every boss I've assisted says I'm really good. The new position would be in accounting, that's not so fun. But friends can make the day go faster.
